Changi Water Reclamation Plant (2008)

Changi Water Reclamation Plant is a state-of–the-art facility built for the treatment and recycling of used water. It is the heart of the Deep Tunnel Sewerage System and one of the world’s biggest facilities in terms of treatment capacity, handling and treating up to 176 million gallons of water per day. After treatment, the water is returned to the environment or channelled to NEWater factory to be further treated into highly purified NEWater.

In a first of its kind in the world, the treatment facilities are built in such a way that they are stacked on top of the other to save space. The Changi Water Reclamation Plant is also one of Singapore's deepest excavation projects featuring cut-off wall protection.
